Divine Inspiration

Royal blood was required

To stain the cross of Christ

One who was perfect in all His ways

To grant us eternal life

No sin or error, stain nor blot

Perfection in every way

The only plan for redemption of man

And the full price for atonement was paid

How great the cost to pay for sin

As a continual act of praise

For every sin committed on earth

To allow the lost to be saved

What act of love could ever compare

To the sacrifice of Christ

Marred more than any; such a horrible death

To give we the guilty life

Oh Lamb of God, what could we give

To ever repay what you’ve done

To walk where angels dare to tread

We owe Him all our love

Eternal love that cannot die

Sacrificed in blood

So precious is your gift to man

From the great, and merciful God

I praise your name with all I am

Or ever hope to be

I trust your perfect sacrifice

You are my God and King

What precious freedom was purchased

On the broken body of Christ

How much it cost to redeem the soul
